Intensive Folk dance workshop with Elena
For intermediate & advanced dancers
In the days just before Boombalfestival
Finally, after many years of dreaming about it – here it is: Elena’s very own dance location with an amazing parquet floor and a big kitchen !
If the weather is nice, we also have access to a stunning terrasse, and a warm welcoming veranda.
Moreover we are situated in a very beautiful region of Belgium, with parcs, lakes and a certain kind of « dolce vita ».
You can stay in a nice dormitory with a shared bathroom, very nearby.
Join in for four days of dancing, sharing, jam sessions, walks, swimming, games, etc. and a folk ball !
An intensive dance workshop for a limited number of dancers, where we will go in depth of some of Elena’s favourite dances !
During the first few hours, we will decide together which dances we will approach as « main topics » and which ones we will also practice, from among:
- Subtle rhythmic and other variations for couple dances
- Some bourrées in 2 or 3 times, danced as a couple and/or collective ones
- Dances from Poitou and / or Gascogne + variations
- Slightly more complicated collective dances
- Dances that are not played often enough at folk bals
- etc.

Saturday, August 15
5:00 PM Welcome & settling in
7:00 PM Buffet dinner (open late) – Dancing and games (or early night…)
Sunday 16, Monday 17, and Tuesday 18 August
- Breakfast
- Workshop (min. 5 hours/day), with lunch break and short breaks *
- Free time, rest, walk, aperitif…*
- Dinner
- Co-creative evening (Jam session, more dancing, relaxing on the terrace, going out…)
(*The length of the lunch break and free time before dinner will be determined based on the weather and temperature.)
A half day off – or extended lunch breaks
We’ll choose a free morning or afternoon to go for a walk, a swim in , simply relax on the terrace, prepare a fantastic barbecue… or any other activity, whether alone, in a small group, or all together.
Depending on the weather and temperature, we’ll either have a free morning or afternoon – or extend the lunch breaks – for a longer walk, swimming in Renipont Lake, relaxing on the terrace, playing games, reading… or for another activity – alone, in a small group, or all together.

Meals
All breakfasts, lunches, snacks and dinners are prepared by our cook, and we’ll help him with the organization (setting the table, cleaning up, etc.).
We will have mostly vegetarian and some meaty options, presented as a buffet (it is not possible to cater for specific allergies/restrictions – please bring what you need).

Tea, filter coffee, water : included
Bring whatever else you like (shop around the corner) !
Price
Dance workshop + all meals from Saturday evening to Wednesday brunch (water, tea, coffee):
SUPER ECO RATE: €200 (ends May 15)
EARLY BIRD RATE: €250 (May 16 – July 15)
FULL RATE (late bookings): €300 (from July 16)
Accommodation
• Dormitory (with mattress, duvet + pillow): €10/night (bring your own sheets or sleeping bag)
• Dormitory floor: €5/night (bring your own mattress, duvet, pillow + sheets or sleeping bag)
• Sheet rental (1 set): €10/stay
• Towel rental: €2/piece
• Shower only (for campervans): €10/stay
Bed and breakfasts nearby: please inquire independently. (The price of the workshop with meals remains unchanged. Thank you for your understanding.)
Reservation
Your place is reserved upon receipt of the completed form and a €100 deposit.
To take advantage of the « super-eco » or « early bird » rate, both the form AND the deposit must be sent on the specified date before midnight.

Cancellation
In case of cancellation (exclusively by writing to eledanse.danse@gmail.com only):
– until July 14th at midnight, €50 will be retained, the remainder will be refunded.
– from July 15th onwards, the €100 deposit is non-refundable.
If unfortunately you have to cancel, feel free to find another intermediate or advanced dancer to take over your ticket. Thank you for your understanding.

To participate in our events, you must have family liability insurance, and we advise you to check if your family insurance covers you in case of injury during a sporting or leisure activity.
